General notes and mandatory information

Designation of the responsible party

The responsible party for data processing on this website is:

Skupin Design GmbH
Frederick Skupin
Gutenbergstraße 48
41564 Kaarst

Germany

The responsible party makes decisions either alone or with others regarding the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, contact details, et al).

Withdrawing your consent to data processing

Certain elements of data processing may only be carried out with your express consent. You may withdraw consent already given at any time. Informal notification via e-mail is sufficient for the withdrawal of consent. The legitimacy of the data processing carried out up until the withdrawal of consent remains unaffected.

Right to complain to the relevant supervisory authority

As the data subject you have the right to complain to the relevant supervisory authority in the event of any infringement of data privacy law. The relevant supervisory authority for matters of data privacy is the data protection officer of the federal state in which our company is headquartered. The following link provides a list of the data protection officers and their contact details:  https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.

Right to data portability

You have the right to request that any data we automatically process on the basis of your consent or in order to fulfil a contract is transferred to you or to third parties. Such data will be provided in a machine-readable format. If you require the data to be transferred directly to another controller, this will only take place where it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and for protection in the transfer of confidential content you have sent to us as the website operator, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. This means data you have transmitted via this website cannot be read by third parties. You can recognize an encrypted connection from the https:// address line in your browser and from the lock symbol in the browser line.

Server log files

In server log files, the provider of the website automatically gathers and stores information that your browser transmits automatically to us. These are:

Type and version of browser

Operating system used

Referrer URL

Host name of the accessing computer

Time of the server request

IP address

These data are not merged with other data sources. The legal basis for data processing is art. 6, para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, which permits data processing for the performance of a contract or in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

YouTube

For the integration and presentation of video content, our website uses plug-ins from YouTube. The provider of the video portal is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When you access a webpage with integrated YouTube plug-in, a connection is made to YouTube’s servers. This way, YouTube can see which of our pages you have viewed.

YouTube can allocate your browsing behavior directly to your personal profile if you are logged into your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out of the account in advance.

Use of YouTube is for the sole purpose of displaying our relevant online content. This represents a legitimate interest pursuant to art. 6, para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

You can find details on the handling of user data in YouTube’s data privacy policy at:  https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device. Cookies help us to make our service more user-friendly, more effective and more secure.

Some cookies are session cookies. These cookies will be deleted automatically after your browser session ends. Other cookies remain on your terminal device, however, until you delete them yourself. These cookies help us to recognize you if you return to our website.

With a modern web browser, you can monitor, limit or prevent the storing of cookies. Many web browsers can be configured in such a way that cookies are automatically deleted when the program is closed. The deactivation of cookies can result in limited functionality of our website.

Storage of cookies, which is necessary for the execution of electronic communication processes or the provision of specific functions you request (e.g. shopping basket), takes place pursuant to art. 6, para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technologically fault-free and smooth provision of our services. Where other cookies are stored (e.g. for analysis functions), these are dealt with in a separate section of this Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider of this web analysis service is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses cookies. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device and which permit analysis of use of the website. Information about your use of the website generated through cookies is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. These servers are generally located in the USA.

The legal basis for use of Google Analytics cookies is art. 6, para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behavior in order to optimize our online offering and, where relevant, to optimize advertising.

IP anonymization

We use Google Analytics in connection with the IP anonymization function. This guarantees that Google will abbreviate your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in other states party to the agreement on the European Economic Area before it is transferred to the USA. There may be exceptional cases in which Google transfers the full IP address to a server in the USA and abbreviates it there. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to create reports about website activities, and to provide further services connected to use of the website and Internet use as requested by us. There is no merging of IP addresses transferred by Google Analytics with other Google data.

Browser plug-in

You can prevent your web browser from storing cookies, although this may limit some of the functions of our website. Likewise, you can also prevent the collection of data in relation to your use of the website, including your IP address, and any subsequent processing by Google. This is possible by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link:  https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. This stores an opt-out cookie, which prevents the recording of your data during any future visits to our website: Deactivate Google Analytics.

You can find details on Google Analytics’ handling of user data in Google’s data privacy policy at:  https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Order processing

In order to fully comply with the statutory data protection provisions, we have concluded an order processing agreement with Google.

Demographics at Google Analytics

Our website uses the Google Analytics’ “demographics” function. This provides for the creation of reports that include statements on the age, gender and interests of the person visiting the website. These data come from interest-based advertising by Google, as well as visitor data from third-party providers. It is not possible to allocate this data to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time, either via the advertisement settings in your Google account, or by changing your settings to prevent data collection by Google Analytics in general, as outlined in the section “Objection to data collection”.

Matomo (formerly Piwik)

Our website uses the web analysis service Matomo. Matomo is an open-source solution.

Matomo uses cookies. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device and which permit analysis of use of the website. Information about your use of the website generated through cookies is stored on our server. Before it is stored, your IP address is anonymized.

Matomo cookies remain on your end device until you choose to delete them.

The legal basis for use of Matomo cookies is art. 6, para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior in order to optimize our online offering and, where relevant, to optimize advertising.

The information stored in the Matomo cookie about use of this website is not passed on to any other parties. You can prevent your web browser from storing cookies, although this may limit some of the functions of our website.

You can deactivate the storage and use of your data here. Your browser stores an opt-out cookie, which prevents the storage of Matomo usage data. When you delete your cookies, the Matomo opt-out cookie is also removed. When you visit our website again, the opt-out cookie has to be reinstalled to prevent storage and use of your data.
